Gold UNICEF Award for Kilmarnock Academy

  • Submitted by: Willie Coffey, Kilmarnock and Irvine Valley, Scottish National Party.
  • Date lodged: Thursday, 23 January 2020
  • Motion reference: S5M-20579

That the Parliament congratulates Kilmarnock Academy on being presented with a Gold Rights Respecting School Award by UNICEF UK, which is granted to schools that show commitment to promoting and realising children’s rights; considers this a superb achievement, as Gold is the highest such accolade and is granted only to schools that have fully embedded the principles of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child into their ethos and curriculum; commends the pupils and teachers at Kilmarnock Academy on this achievement, and wishes them the best of luck for the future.
