Childhood Cancer Awareness Month 2020

  • Submitted by: Clare Adamson, Motherwell and Wishaw, Scottish National Party.
  • Date lodged: Thursday, 10 September 2020
  • Motion reference: S5M-22690

That the Parliament notes that September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, which is an annual international awareness month to raise awareness of childhood cancers and support and funding to help the people and families affected by it; understands that childhood cancer is devastating to growth and development in children, as well as to the families and friends of those affected; acknowledges that, at a time when young people should be focusing on school, play and socialising, the focus of young cancer patients is often on treatment and medication; commends the work of cancer charities throughout Scotland, and wholeheartedly supports Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.
