Mental Health and Family Support Initiatives in Angus

  • Submitted by: Liam Kerr, North East Scotland, Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party.
  • Date lodged: Thursday, 17 September 2020
  • Motion reference: S5M-22748

That the Parliament welcomes two new initiatives that provide mental health and family support in Angus; acknowledges that a new Sustain service, involving Angus Council and Aberlour children’s charity, will be launched in November 2020 to provide extra support to families and prevent children being taken into care; recognises the hard work and initiative of Angus Health and Social Care Partnership in enabling patients struggling with their mental health to receive one-to-one support from experienced peer workers; understands that this project has been developed and funded in collaboration with local GPs and will be delivered by Penumbra and Hillcrest Futures, and wishes everyone involved in both projects success.
