Hollybrook Academy Receives National Lottery Funding

  • Submitted by: Nicola Sturgeon, Glasgow Southside, Scottish National Party.
  • Date lodged: Wednesday, 10 May 2023
  • Motion reference: S6M-08840

That the Parliament congratulates Hollybrook Academy on receiving a £10,000 award from the National Lottery Community Fund; understands that the school will use the funding to partially pay for the redevelopment of its outdoor space, including a sensory garden and outdoor classroom; sends its condolences to the school and to the friends and family of head teacher, Jackie Newell, who sadly passed away earlier in 2023; recognises that the new outdoor spaces will serve as a legacy and a memorial to Jackie’s passion and commitment to the school and its young people, and believes that the most vulnerable young people in the community will have access to wonderful, high quality outdoor space, which meets their physical, emotional and sensory needs.
