  • Motion reference: S6M-12092

That the Parliament welcomes what it sees as the extraordinary achievement of Perthshire in being named "the most welcoming region on Earth" in the Booking.com Traveller Review Awards 2024; understands that the award was based on 309 million verified customer reviews, and is attributed to what it sees as Perthshire’s welcoming rural towns and villages, exceptional landscape and vast array of flora and fauna; notes that three towns in the Mid Scotland and Fife region, Auchterarder, Anstruther, and Drymen, featured in the top 10 UK destinations at the same awards; commends the efforts of local tourism and hospitality businesses to achieve this impressive accolade, and acknowledges what it sees as the wide, positive impact that this title will have on the local economy.
