Celebrating the Heritage Work of John MacDonald

That the Parliament commends what it sees as the significant work of John MacDonald, of North Uist, in preserving the maritime heritage of steamers and ferries in the West Highlands and Western Isles; considers that John’s collection of photographs, memorabilia and ship models of various vessels linked to the West Highlands and Western Isles is substantial and of significant value to the heritage of the region, and welcomes the news of a new exhibition at Taigh Chearsabhagh Museum and Arts Centre, in North Uist, displaying a share of John MacDonald’s collection.
